UT-San Antonio Begins Residence Hall Renovations
The University of Texas at San Antonio recently began a $6-million renovation project to one of its residence halls, according to a news release. Originally completed in 1986, Chisolm Hall measures in at 120,860 square feet and is the oldest and largest residence hall on campus. The university partnered with Chesney Morales Architects as project architect and with Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) for construction services.
“Being selected to renovate Chisholm Hall is a meaningful opportunity for our team to support the University of Texas at San Antonio and its continued investment in student life,” said Addisu Negash, AP Project Executive. “Kicking off this project allows us to enhance a legacy residence hall with modern upgrades that improve comfort, functionality and long-term performance for the students who call it home.”
The renovations consist of a series of upgrades and modernizations to the building’s first four floors. New amenities will include updates to resident bathroom vanity spaces, replacing mechanical unit ventilators and hallway ducts, installing new acoustical ceilings and lighting, activity chiller replacement, and limited remediation work, the news release reports.
“The project represents an important milestone for our San Antonio team and reflects our growing presence in the region,” said AP Regional President Granger Hassman. “We’re proud to partner on a project that not only revitalizes a key campus facility but also reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality construction solutions for higher education clients across Texas.”
The project has an estimated completion date of July 2026.
